I'm stuck about what to write on my essay .. which is suppose to be what the book is about, i'm hopeing for a short and sweet explanation ..? P L E A S E !

The book is about our world. The island is Earth, and the boys are the inhabitants.

Previous writers had posed that humans are basically good but society corrupts them. Golding poses the opposite: we are basically bad (the Beast within us all), and society keeps the Beast in check.
