Analyze the affect of Beth's death on Jo. Explain how Jo begins to change even more in these chapters/in the wake of Beth's death

Jo describes Beth as her "conscience." When Beth dies, Jo seems to take on many of Beth's characteristics. Jo is still feisty and opinionated but she also becomes more empathetic to her family. She comforts her parents and draws closer to her own femininity.
