Like Water for Chocolate

Which does Laura Esquivel, author of Like Water for Chocolate, seem to think is better: A life that is calm, predictable, safe and within your control, or a life that is unpredictable, full of risk, potentially stormy and filled with passion?

I need help with this question for the book Like Water For chocolate. It is an overall question for the whole book.

I don't know the author personally but within the context of the book, I would definitely say: a life that is unpredictable, full of risk, potentially stormy and filled with passion. The characters and narrative are driven by passion, risk, and uncertainty.
