Who is Dan?

Dan is one of the boys from Miranda's high school. Miranda meets Dan at Miller's Pond when she goes swimming there, and the two start a relationship. Dan tells Miranda he would like to take her to prom if they're ever able to have one. When things get bad, Dan leaves the area to try and find a place where things are better. Although Miranda likes Dan, their relationship is centered around comfort and a need for normalcy more than it is romantic.
