Leviathan

Thomas Hobbes

Hobbs also believed that, basically, all men are created equal - thus causing competition among them. Why does he see this state of affairs as dangerous?

This state of affairs can be dangerous because some people are naturally evil and violent, and thus, would take advantage of those who are weaker. Hobbes believed that competition needed to be organized and managed in order to have a safer environment. Without order, people would be left to their own devices, creating an unsafe environment.
