Why do you think Cassie’s mother supports Mrs. Lee Annie, even though she thinks Mrs. Lee Annie’s idea of registering to vote is dangerous?

Mama is an educated woman. She understands that change for African Americans will come through exercising their rights. Although there is a cost for doing this, it is the only way to make things better for them in the long run.
