Evidence that Stacey is ready to leave can be found in the way he kisses his mother and grandmother goodnight, as well as in the fact that he gives Cassie his knife for safekeeping.

Look Simone, what Jill D says is correct but, he also tells Cassie that he found another job and asks Cassie not to say anything and. Cassie doesn't say anything becasue she is happy her brother is talking to her and aksing her favors instead of ignoring her the way he used to.
