There are a few examples of this. There is situational irony in that Mr. Mallard lives and Mrs. Mallard dies.

Mrs. Mallard cries but she is actually happy.

Josephine worries that Mrs. Mallard has locked herself in the room out of despair. She is actually in her room contemplating how wonderful life is now.
