The Roman mob represents the ignorant fickle masses . At first they supported Pompey but, after Caesar's victory over Pompey, they are bust preparing for Caesar's homecoming victory celebration. The mob clearly represents a "mob mentality" that is insincere and easily manipulated by people in power.
