Johnny Tremain

Which of the following passages from the text suggests that Johnny is becoming less self centered? (Chapter 8)

A. Johnny liked the old woman all the better that in the end she had been uable to see a considerate master...humilated, tossed about, torn by a mob

B. "I'm better off without it. I want nothing of them. Neither their blood nor their silver..."

C. Only Isannah was staring about, observing the "lower classes" milling about in the street. She looked straight at Johnny and he at her. Neither gave any sign of recognition

D. He took his knif from his pocket and cut the pages from the family Bible. Sometime they might be of use to him

From the answers you've provided I'd have to say the answer would be B also. As the above quotes are taken out of context, I'm not completely sure.
