How does social status affect jane’s relationship with Mr. Rochester?

Jane is a servant in Rochester's home. Her only status is as his employee. As a result, society dictates the two can be nothing more than what they are.... a wealthy employer, and the woman employed to take care of Rochester's charge. The budding relationship between the two breaks all rules in society.
