how did jane eyre and mr. rochester describe each other?

Jane, in first meeting Mr. Rochester, finds him rough and abrupt as she describes him to Mrs. Fairfax. However, as she gets to know him, he seems to enjoy talking to her and at one point, he tells her she is not his servant.
