The narrator senses danger when he is driving with the Brothers through Central Park. The park offers an almost surreal hiatus from his environment. Although the snow and nature are peaceful, there is a zoo nearby with killer animals. This seems to be a metaphor for what the narrator feels himself getting into with these men.
