What was the clash between Zarza and McCandless?

Zarza didn't appreciate Chris' lack of motivation.... he was a slow worker. None-the-less, the clash between them was Zarza's discussion with Chris about his hygiene. Chris smelled..... and Zarza told him he needed to bathe.

"So finally they delegated me to tell him that he needed to take a bath more often. Ever since I told him, there was a clash between us. And then the other employees—they were just trying to be nice—they started asking him if he needed some soap or anything. That made him mad—you could tell. But he never showed it outright.
