What is McCandless's relationship with his father?

Christopher's relationship with his father is very strained and bitter. Since Chris found out about his father's affair, he remained bitter and remote. Chris doesn't embrace his father's lifestyle or actions; they do not get along. The epilogue shows us a grieving father. Chris' feelings did not negate the love his father felt for him.
