When a person is comfortable and happy, they're a lot less likely to rock the boat and take the chance they'll lose what they have. Think about it..... you prove yourself in your chosen profession, get married, have children, buy a nice home..... a couple of cars...... these comforts aren't easy to give up. Adventure isn't often seen as worth the price it might cost.... your home, your family..... maybe your health...... possibly your life.
