Why did the kids call Saul Zhaunagush? What does this tell you about parenting and about the residential school?

They called Saul "Zhaunagush" because he could read and write English. Zhaunagush represents white man and white culture. Saul can navigate the white world of education quite well. Most of the other kids cannot. Many kids hold Saul's "white education" against him because their parents only taught them the old ways.
