What is foreshadowing? Looking back in the book, what are two examples that could be considered foreshadowing?

In chapter 10, Saul and Naomi continue through the wilderness. Naomi claims that they’re close to Saul’s great-grandfather’s trail, though Saul himself can’t see it. I think this foreshadows Saul's forced departure from his roots and background at St. Jerome's school.
