The children experience some terrible things at night. Why do they not talk to each other about these experiences? (ch.21).

The experiences are so traumatic that the children cannot even emotionally process them let alone talk about them. The shame they feel is crushing. What happens to them remain dark secrets that slowly eat away at their souls. The priests call it "God's love" but it is just child rape.
