Saul sees the school as a constant force on the students.

What does he see as the only way to stop the harm being done to the students? Also, how does Saul manage to survive the school and come away alive?

The school is a source of negativity and abuse for all of the children, who demeaned, mentally oppressed, and sexally abused. St. Jerome’s school, however, serves the narrative purpose of demonstrating the horrific racial oppression that persisted in Canada in the 1960s. The only way to stop the harm is to close the schools.
