On page 184 Saul finally engages in his first fight on the ice. What about this moment do you think makes him finally display his aggressive side in the form of a fight? What does he say happens to him concerning the joy of the game in that moment?

Saul loses his sense of the game once he fights. Saul tried to resist the rough unfair play and racial taunts. Others thought he should stand up for himself. Unfortunately standing up for himself meant violence and violence meant losing the magic of the game. Saul wanted to play hockey, not fight.
