At the end of this chapter, Saul receives an award for his performance during the game. why does he not want to go back on to the ice ro receive it? What does he do, and how does the crowd react?

When Saul leaves the ice, he discovers he has been awarded the first star, marking him as the most important player of the game. He returns to the ice to the sound of applause. Saul is uncomfortable with this. People were not singled out in the native league: winning was a team effort. Saul also doesn't like the racism showed by the crowd.
