This chapter starts to repeat the fact that Saul is much smaller than most people around him. It also mentions how he deals with his size. What could being small symbolize for Saul in his world and circumstances ? Chapter 17

Saul is literally and metaphorically small against a bigger world that will not always accept him. Saul uses his special abilities like his quickness and ability to "see" plays before they happen on the ice to compensate for his stature. Saul also has a big heart and big determination that help him deal with bigger players and even racism from white people.
