During the games the crowd yelled war chants and threw Indian dolls on the ice. One fan even threw a horse turd on the ice. Saul was also portrayed in a comic with feathers in his helmet.... a source of comedy.

Saul was whacked on the back of the knees by an opposing player. He consistently found himself a source of illegal checks and penalty worthy plays. It got to the point where he fought back.... each and every time.
