After playing very well for the midget team, Saul is told he is not able to play anymore. What is the reason he is given for not being able to play? As Saul asks, “Where’s God now?” of father Leboutilier, why is the father unable to answer him?

Saul is just too good for this team. White parents complain about their child not getting enough ice time or exposure because Saul is that good. Saul is forced to leave the team. Father LeBoutillier tells Saul that hockey is God's gift to him, but he cannot explain why God would let being kicked of the team, because of his gift, happen.
