Minnerva is the third oldest of the Mirabal sisters. She is a head stong and extremely intelligent girl. She ends up going to Law School but Trujillo intervenes to withhold her license to practice law as revenge for being spurned at a party. Minnerva becomes more revolutionary as she matures. She changes from a potential lawyer to a revolutionary who brakes the law. In the book, Minerva is described with a series of adjectives, "The beautiful, intelligent, high-minded Minerva."
