Do they learn anything because of Tibbs

I think they learn the truth about the crime because of Tibbs. I don't think Gillespie and the other police would have gotten Ralph without Tibbs. I think the people working with Tibbs learned that their racism was simply ignorance. Most of the police force, including Gillespie, found Tibbs a likable individual.
