What does the bright, full moon symbolize in Capote's novel In Cold Blood?

The moon appears a lot though out the novel. It seems like a motif. Here are some examples:

"A full moon was forming at the edge of the sky"

"'There was a full moon'"

" the moon was so bright "

There are soo many more, and it's ubiquitous throughout the nove!!

What does this full moon symbolize?! Please help

There is a sense of darkness that pervades the novel. The moon might symbolize truth within the darkness or light within a horrible situation.
