In Cold Blood

How does Capote manage to create sympathy for Nancy Clutter?

the question word for word:

In the course of In Cold Blood, Truman Capote manages to create sympathy for almost every character at some point, whether the character is a murderer, a law-enforcement official, or an ordinary citizen. Select two characters- from two of the categories above- and in a well-organized essay, discuss how Capote creates sympathy for those two characters. Use specific evidence from the work to support your point.

(I already decided to use Perry as one of my characters)

Thanks!

She is a seemingly perfect all American girl.Nancy, who is sixteen years old, is a model student, the president of her class, and a leader in a number of community activities, including the Young Methodists League and the local 4-H club. She also devotes time to teaching younger girls music, sewing, and baking; in fact, her only shortcoming seems to be her tendency to over-commit herself to helping others.
