This story is told in the first-person, Maya Anjelou is the narrator. She tells the story from both her point of view as a child, and from her perspective as an adult.

I KNOW WHY THE CAGED BIRD SINGS

This story, which is autobiographical, is told from Angelou's perspective describing the ups and downs of her early life.  Her interaction with Mrs. Flowers might seem to be from Mrs. Flowers' point of view because Mrs. Flowers brings her out of her silence and helps her find her voice again.
