I Am Malala

Why do so few people in Pakistan celebrate the birth of a baby girl? What is the attitude of Malala’s father’s toward the birth of his daughter?

I need the best answer.

Like many patriarchal societies, boys are valued because they can work, make money, carry the family name...Girls are seen as submissive and costly because the don't generate income. Malala's father was more enlightened and celebrated his daughter's birth.
