What are the various religions that have “ruled” the Swat Valley?

So in the book, "I Am Malala", she mentions that Swat was based on self-government to a certain extent but they wanted to keep it that way. Now by looking at this question, it seems like Swat is not based on self-government anymore and the reason for that is because various religious groups stepped into Swat.
