I Am Malala

Jacob Luma

Malala wrote the book for a Western audience. What evidence supports this?

Malala really tries to explain the relevant history and culture of her people. The history and people of the Swat valley figures heavily in the pages. Much of her book is spent bridging the gap between Western and Islamic sensibilities. Malala tries to give context to westerners who may not understand her culture.
