Introduction to I Am Malala

Malala Yousafzai's memoir, I Am Malala, was first published in 2013, with the help of British journalist Christina Lamb. The book details Malala's life from her birth up through the immediate aftermath of her 2012 shooting. Within this book, Malala outlines her worldview, and speaks passionately about her desire to bring education to all. We learn about her homeland's descent into Taliban control and are given insight into what life under such an authority was like. As she continues to gain recognition for her activism, Malala and her family must contend with increased pressure against her and her family to stop.
