Prince Hal hangs out with the common people. He enjoys their company more than nobility. Hal finds nobility boring and tiresome. I suppose teenagers are steered by adults to have certain friends and act a certain way. Like Hal many teenagers reject or rebel what is expected of them and simply do what feels right. Teenagers pick friends that, like Hal, they identify with.
