how much individualism does Hedda Gabler manifest, and is she successful in being an individual?

The novel Hedda Gabler is all about restrained individuality that usually comes from conformity in social mores (scandal, duty, fear). Hedda learns about individuality at a time when it's almost impossible to reach out for it, though in my opinion she does become a successful individual.
