How does marlow persuade kurtz to return to the ship?

There wasn't really a lot of communication between Marlow and Kurtz at this point. Kurtz is a sickly mess, murmuring incoherent thoughts. He seems to slip in and out of consciousness. Marlow does try to encourage Kurtz by saying he is famous in Europe and that he had gratified his "monstrous passions". Then Marlow drags Kurtz to the boat.
