Why did JK Rowling change the title? Why didn't she say it as, "Harry Potter and the Sorceres's Stone"?

The title with "the Sorcerer's Stone" is the proper title in some countries when it was released.

Philosopher would imply that the stone is something more than simple wizardry.

Harry grows throughout each novel and becomes more and more thoughtful (philosophical) as he becomes more and more mature.
