Hamlet

hamlet is a novel melancholic in nature

How can we say that by marrying Claudius gertude has given a melancholic tone to hamlate?

Hamlet is really upset that his mother, Gertrude, has married with his Uncle Claudius so soon after the King's death. This certainly depresses Hamlet. He has some major mother issues which he extends to all women. Hamlet also disliked Uncle Claudius before Claudius married his mother and took his father's place.
