do you believe that claudius'explanation for polonius' quick death and secretive burial? why/why not?

Claudius says that Hamlet is loved by the "distracted multitudes" so a public burial of Polonius might plunge Denmark into chaos. I think Claudius is being his regular "snake in the grass" self. He senses the change in Gertrude and that things are beginning to go against him. The first rule of being a slimy usurper of the throne:when in doubt, cover up any bad publicity!
