Hamlet

Act 1, Sc. 3: Based on what Ophelia has previously said about Hamlet, what emotions might her statement in line 137 conceal?

Polonius: This is for all: I would not, in plain terms, from this time forth Have you slander any moment leisure As to give words or talk with the Lord Hamlet. Look to 't, I charge you. Come your ways.

(Line 137) Ophelia: I shall obey, my lord.

Ophelia really thinks Hamlet loves her and they could have a future together. Line 137 indicates Ophelia's sense of futility and helplessness: she has no choice but to obey her father.
