Hamlet

7. As Hamlet dies, he asks Horatio to tell his story. What does this prevent Horatio from doing? Do you think Horatio can tell Hamlet’s story accurately? Why or why not? How is Hamlet’s request like the Ghost’s request?

Please go into detail and answer all of the subquestions. If someone could use quotes directly from Hamlet to help me understand what is happening, that would be amazing. Thank you.

Hamlet asks Horatio to tell his story, a request that prevents Horation from taking his own life. Hamlet does this in order to guarantee people will learn the truth about his father's murder, as the only witnesses to this fact are Claudius, Gertrude, Hamlet, and Horatio..... of the four, Hortatio is the only one left alive.

O God, Horatio, what a wounded name, Things standing thus unknown, shall live behind me! If thou didst ever hold me in thy heart Absent thee from felicity a while, And in this harsh world draw thy breath in pain To tell my story.
