The Laputians are an absentminded race that are a pretty strange group of people (?). Intellectually, they are mathematical and musical genuises, but beyond that........... they don't have a lick of common sense and are completely impractical. Constructing building is beyond them; they can't match angles. They wear clothing, but are unvle to sew or construct anything that actually fits them.

Physically, their heads lean to the side, the result being that they unable to focus. They can float through the air, and their minds are constantly "floating" as well. They even have servants named "flappers," to spur them out of their daydreams by shaking rattles.
