Explain the legal and educational systems of Brobdingnag.

Brobdingnag is a monarchy. Brobdingnag has common sense straight forward laws. People seldom break them because they do not have the vices (gambling, massive greed, and lust for power) that people in England do. Their army, aside from the occasional civil conflict, is largely a peacekeeping force. Gulliver describes the education system as

'very defective, consisting only in morality, history, poetry and mathematics... the last of these is wholly applied... to the improvement of agriculture and all mechanical arts'
