How does Grendels war with the "Slow witted Ram" mimick his war with the danes.
Try to prove that they are both meaningless and a repetitive conflict based on inconsequential factors and has no real end goal.
The ram is unable to see Grendel's hostility, it is unmovable, and he is unable to frighten it away. Grendel sees the ram as mindless, the same way in which he later sees the warriors. When Grendel and the warriors embark on their repetitive conflict, the people die... yet Grendel remains. The more the king and his warriors attack Grendel.... more people lose their lives. Grendel sees the King's war as a mindless action. The people are sacrificed, and Grendel's life is filled with meaningless violence.
