Where does Pip end up staying while in town and why does he choose not to see Joe? What does this tell us about his character?

I believe he stays with the Jaggers. Pip is now very self conscious about seeing Joe. He is embarrassed about how he treated Joe in London and thinks things can never be the same again. He also doesn't want to put Joe under the added stress of a second meeting.
