What steps does Pip take to improve himself?

Pip's main step toward self-improvement comes with his decision to apply himself to getting an education. He is initially schooled by Mr. Wopsle’s great aunt, but that doesn't work out as she's more prone to falling asleep than she is to teaching. Lucky for Pip, Biddy takes over and teaches him everything she knows.
