Why is Pip finally able to accept and love Magwitch in Great Expectations? What has caused this change in Pip?

Pip's exposure to Magwitch the man, the time he spends with him, allows Pip to know the man rather than the criminal. As a result, he softens towards the older man, a sign of maturity and understanding.
