Tom is very worried about William because he hasn't received a letter from him. When Tom and the other men arrive at William's address, they are greeted by an awful odor, and although, they initially believe the house is empty..... they soon find William locked under the stairwell. William is sitting in his own urine and excrement, holding the a baby and tied to copper piping. He is covered with sores..... the baby is dead.
