    Objective:

    To allow students to apply the concepts in the book to their personal lives.

    Common Core Standards:

    CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RI.11-12.7

    Structure:

    In this section of the text, we see how conventional wisdom about parenting is often wrong. Students can see this for themselves by questioning their own parents about raising children. (Hopefully, their parents haven’t read Freakonomics!)

    In this activity, students will conduct a filmed interview with their parent(s)/caregiver(s). Questions can include:

    · “What are the things you do that makes you think you’re a good parent? A bad parent?”
